It sounds like the easier thing for you to do would be to take your club off campus. With enough ground work you should be able to find a community center or church with a room you can use for free.

Thanks these are all really good suggestions!

The vet fencer idea may be great...and beneficial since technically I will be alumni next year (I guess that makes me vet. in this sense?).

I've also been tossing around the idea of holding practices at a sort of sister club...we'd have to pay for the space, but it might be worth it for the exposure to other fencers/ competitive atmosphere. I'd really like to see more of our students getting involved in competitions (not just in running them), especially if our grant goes through (requisitioned some electric sabre funding for a pretty good upcoming sabreist in our ranks). Has anyone developed an effective way of getting students, whom don't normally like to leave campus for practices, to go?

There is a problem with adding outside people on as coaches, however. Since the facility we're using also acts as a fitness center, Sport's Club charter only allows 2 coaches in for free. Even if said coaches never use the facility except for coaching during practice, any additional coaches have to pay a full membership to be added as a coach. So, this means basically we spend $80/semester/per additional coach or we can't do this. I guess that's the way it goes.

No, it means that's your membership fee for outsiders to come play in your facility and with your fencers.

...which is, by a lot of club standards, dirt cheap.

True, but experienced fencers whom already likely have a club, aren't going to pay extra to fence fencers whom have never ever competed. Thus we become a self-fulfilling prophecy....
