    Ohms

How many ohms of resistance should a reel register on the A/B/C lines? Same with floor chords?

not a lot. I've done testing on about half a dozen cords and in my limited experience have found that the working ones registered anywhere from 3 to 5 ohms.
    one reason why 17 is the greatest of all numbers: 17 has 2 numbers...17 * 2 = 34...ah...but 1 + 7 = 8...and 34 + 8 = 42!

I guess as few as possible is too easy huh Art? Go for the same as a body cord according to the rulebook.

For floor cords, 2.5 ohms is the spec. The FIE spec for reels is 3-ohms for each line, plug-to-plug. As a practical matter, anything under 10 or so will cause no problems unless there's something else in the system thats much higher than spec. Is this in reference to any particular reel/problem?

The reel's A and B lines have about 3.01 ohms but the C line has almost 12 ohms, in Epee touches were scored when the bell guard was hit, I was wondering if that had something to do with it.

12 ohms in the C line isn't going to cause any problems on it's own-- the spec. is that anything under 100 ohms should be sufficient to prevent a touch from registering. Did you test the reel stationary, or were you pulling the cable in-and-out while the meter was connected-- you may get momentary jumps in the resistance due to a dirty spot on a moving contact that would allow a touch to be registered. Another possibility is a break in the wire inside the insulation that is normally in good enough contact to provide continuity, but gets momentarily strectched apart under tension.

What kind of reel (Uhlmann, Allstar, Leon Paul, Prieur, etc.) is it?
