Array I'm working on something (still).
Hopefully I'll have a prototype by the end of the year. The preceding post brought to you by Rabid Monk (TM). Rabid Monk: informative, irreverent, interesting, random and downright odd posts, done with pride since 1983. -

Array I understand that sharps did a great job of letting you know where you hit... -

The answer is.... Anywhere you want to. Sounds facetious? Not so my young padawan learner. bwahahah.
Here's how it works. Go to a billiard store near you or order pool cue tips. Glue one on your blade tip and dip in ink. Your partners will hate you so...
build a fencing dummy and put a cheap lame on it.
Practice.
Voila!!! Another problem solved.

Array Epee method Ask the other fencer where it hurts. Just because it can be done, does not mean it has to be done. -

Array t-shirt trick Assuming you have a specific location on your opponent's lame, I've heard one excellent suggestion:
Take an old t-shirt and cut a hole in it on the spot you're trying to hit. Have your training partner get dressed to fence electric as usual, but put the t-shirt on over everything else. Now the only place where you can register a valid touch is is where the hole in the t-shirt is, and everything else is off-target. Presto! -

Array When in practice, just hold the hit for a second. Really, you should always have some idea of where you're hitting, or at least where you're aiming for. "If I were ever to challenge you to a duel, your best bet would be battle axes in a very dark basement." Misquoted from The Prisoner

If you have hit the lame then you are on target. You don't get another point for a pin-point hit. I assume that you are beginner - true?
You would be better off focusing on basic technique: get your hand in the right place, get your stance relaxed and practice your footwork. These will eventually tell you where you have hit. Speak to you coach.
If your problem is that you are unsure where your point is then try to improve your basic technique. Put your hand in the right place and the rest is easy. Similar Threads -
