| Calling my boss a fat bastard a fortnight into his diet probably wasn't my greatest moment, though I did get promoted a couple of months later....

| End Days Confessionals Most insenstive thing I did recently:
I screamed at an old lady for being a hog and she actually made me miss an interview, and the worst part was that a few days prior to the scream, I had given her a little purse, what was more worser, was that she wanted the contents which included a face wash - so she 'took it' and then I had to retrieve THAT part back from her, which led to the scream. Most insenstive thing done to me: I was walking out of a high end athletic club and a youngish guy hit me on the arm with his elbow on purpose he didn't stop and didn't apologize. He felt that he should be there and not me. |

| We were discussing the costs of childcare at dinner last night (several of the people at the table work/run a daycare), and one of the people made a comment that it must be more expensive for kids in wheelchairs. I quietly made a comment that no wheelchair kids must be cheaper to send to daycare since all you have to do is park them in the corner and engage their brake. I immediately felt much shame for my comment.

i had a not so smooth break-up about a year ago (about 4 months into it i told him it wasnt working and when he asked to "just be friends" i basically severed all communications) and had, until recently, put the guy completely out of concious thought...
now i am attending spring semester classes and notice that in two of my higher level courses the same guy sits right next to me... i thought that he looked familiar but chocked it up to being in the same major. so here iv been passing the attendance role, tripping over bookbags, i have even occasionally asked him what i missed in previous classes, for about 3 months now. i had noticed that he kinda acted weird toward me, not looking me in the eye, mumbling, keeping his head down, i caught him staring a few times, but i shrugged this off as shyness.
a couple of weeks ago i was signing the attendance sheet and just happened to glance up the roster... yep, there was HIS name, and yep, matches the description of the fella sitting right across from me. suffice to say, i felt like a completely evil ***** (more than usual). i mean, here i've been acting like a semi-polite total stranger, not even recognizing the poor guy, for 3 WHOLE MONTHS!!! i almost left the class...
i have yet to decide what to do now... continue to ignore him or plaster the biggest ****-eating grin on my face and say hello *enter name here,* sorry for being such a cold ***** this whole time, but i honestly didnt recognize you at all... oops.

| Chalk it up to experience. I too had a similar experience. I ran into someone who I hadn't seen in a long time, my old fencing instructor. I was glad to see him looking so well, and that some of his plans seem to be taking off; but since we parted on not such good terms I didn't know if I should say hello; but seeing as how Easter is his all time favorite time of year, I had to say 'hello' and he responded very well. Almost like being on one side of the Gaza Strip; while I stood on the other side of the Gaza Strip. At least we didn't smote one another. But, heyla....he's doing very well lately and getting his ratings up there and I'm actually very proud of him. And, heyla again, I hope he didn't get too upset with my comments; seeings as how he wrote unbelieveable stories which I tried to take in good humor; how about the time he pretended to be "Francis" and invited me to his house. I escaped by playing religious music on the organ in his living room.
As for the person who made the comment about the wheelchair - eat leftover food. You must not be a fencer, did you know we have a strong wheelchair division that competes in fencing at nationals. |

| From northern Minnesota I recognized many of the Canadian sayings since I was raised a mere 100 miles South of the Border. I couldn't stop laughing!!!
Ther is one I haven't heard in many a moon until recently; I'm surprised it wasn't on the list so I'd very much like to add it.
"Bang On!": Meaning something is 100% accurate or correct. I heard it once from someone once MANY years ago and never heard it for like 20 years again until recently.
Ever have one of those weird deja-vu moments when everything comes fulll circle? I flashed back thru from 7yrs old thru 19 yrs old in like a single instant.
Talk about a 'bang on moment'
AS for the most insensitive thing I've done? Hell, it's hard to choose. There are so many people worth being insensitive to!! BWAHAHAHAHA
AS for the most insensitive thing I've done.. my circle 6 flick is pretty inviolable; I cracked one of those dessert-cuppy things gals wear once. She tried a feint to my 7. I transposed her to my 6 and flicked along her blade. Split the thing in half and bruised her. I felt horrible. It was one of those perfectly timed things I couldn't repeat if I tried.
The other thing I did was to my coach. I called Inq a Saber fencer. He was mad at me for months!!!

And eastrealm that is ridiculous. You were going out for 4 months and you didn't even recognise the guy. Once would be bad enough but for 3 months? That story has to take the cake.

I think he was saying that what I did was not dumb ...that some people need a reality check before they can look closely at their actions...

| I agree Rick... I was being playful and continuing with Purple's comment and your "challenge".
When someone dares you (in public) to come up with something stupider than what they have done, the intelligent thing is usually just tell them that you can't top whatever stupid thing they were boasting about.... that's all my teasing was about... it was your challenge not your story that got us going... Geez... you guys... ever heard of humour? Sigh! Perhaps it's a Canadian thing...
