| Fencing shops in DC Are there any fencing equipment retailers in the DC area? Really just after some decent fencing shoes. Hoping to make the most of the time away from rip-off Britain!

| depends on what you mean. DC fencers club maintains a small supply of equipment for sale (mainly I think for there fencers, but you can ask). They have (I believe) some uhlman and absolute stuff.
BFC in Baltimore has a small store at the facility, and contains basically stuff made in China.
Outside of thse two options you are going to have to go to NJ or North Carolina (I think, there are probably small stores in VA that I am excluding). |

| I saw the FWF logo on the barrels, and the blades are good as far as I can tell. The masks and uniforms are definitely Uhlmann. |

Been having a little trouble finding the stuff of late. Blades I'm still just looking for the BF logo. |

| Absolute Fencing is supposed to be coming to the Cherry Blossom tournament in April, which is held in College Park, just outside of DC. If you are interested in shoes, you should contact them and ask them to bring down some pairs in your size so you can check them out.

| While not quite DC, Duelist North America has a storefront/shop that they are setting up in the Winchester part of the world. They are a real retailer, not a fencing club that sells gear, and as such might be more what you are looking for. For more info check out this for the actual site and here for a thread about it on the VA forum.
As a general rule unless you are a member of the club you are buying from, you are going to get a better deal customer service going through an actual vendor than a club.

| Nah, don't bother, or at least call Bin first if you want small tip parts. He hasn't re-stocked in forever. Blades he has tons of, though, plenty of BFs. And uniforms, gloves, body cords, shoes, masks, etc. |

| And if you call or email them in advance they can bring exactly what you want. They have done it for me before.
