I've seen that before, it is awsome what they made the actors do to get in shape. also - it is the most amazing film ever created!!!

It's pretty and has good action sequences, but the dialogue sucks.

Just saw it yesterday.
I wouldn't quite go so far as to claim it THE most amazing film ever. It was a good film, but I can name quite a few that I personally think are better movies.
And I did have a few beefs with it in general, like the historical inaccuracies (regarding armor, force composition, etc) and the sometimes formulaic approach to dialog.

But I do understand it's based on the graphic novel rather than pure history, and from that perspective, it was very good, the look was definitely very comic-book-like. And it did a very good job of creating the aura of near invincibility (and the resulting mindset) for the Spartans. Except for David Wenham (especially when compared to Gerard Butler's performance), and that's my second beef. The speech at the end seemed a bit anticlimactic.

Oh well. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The best ever? Not in my opinion. Great adaptation from the comic? Definitely.

Sweet!

I really enjoyed the movie myself, unfortunately I've only been able to see it one time so far...

I really enjoyed the 300. The plot wasn't exquisite, and some of the acting was a little bit hokey, but over all it was a very solid film. The best aspect of it in my opinion was how it really captured the kinetic energy of a hit. Everytime someone got hit with something it was quite evident, and all the fight scenes were choreographed in such a way that every move was done with style and grace. I felt the film ended a scene or two later than it needed to.

That's really what the film was. It wasn't a brilliant peace of cinema because of acting orf story. It didn't seem to have much to impart in terms of meaning but the same cliched catch phrases, but it did have its moments of comedy and entrhalling action, and serves as a model on which I'd like to see a lot more film done on the basis of how the film was shot, and how combat was done.

The graphic novel was written from the point of view of the spartans, as if they were telling the story over the camp fire. Therefore you've got the force size beiong smaller than it really was and the mystical appearence of the persians, and I'm fairly sure they didn't use animals at thermopylae, but I'm posative.
