Foo Fighters Fan?

Anybody heard "best of you" by the foo fighters?

Watch that. Its probably the best cover of a song ever.

I hope you're not being serious. If you are you should listen to more music His voice is alright but gets really annoying when he does that sort of breath in/yelp thing. If you mean the best cover by a random youtuber then you might have a slightly better case due to the quality on that website.

On the topic of good covers there's Panic at the Disco doing Maneater (Nellly Furtado's) on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GJXpunXEVs. Lots of other good ones by professionals floating around too. Heck if you want to be pedantic Hearbeats by Jose Gonzalez is a great cover.

Wow, someone took a great Foo Fighters song and turned it into something you'd hear on Dawson's Creek.....or. worse, High School Musical... :P

Probably my favorite cover at the moment is Johnny Cash's cover of the song "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails. It was one of the last things he wrote, and he put a lot more meaning and significance behind the words. Even Trent Reznor (the leader of Nine Inch Nails) aknowledged the song wasn't his anymore:

I wrote some words and music in my bedroom as a way of staying sane, about a bleak and desperate place I was in, totally isolated and alone. [Somehow] that winds up reinterpreted by a music legend from a radically different era/genre and still retains sincerity and meaning—different, but every bit as pure.
It won a grammy. It's moving. It's something you really have to see (click the link above) and is proof than Johnny Cash could handle covers from bands as different as 9 Inch (or for you people non stateside 22 and 1/2 Centimeter) Nails.

That is definitely a good one Phaeton. I'm not familiar with the original but Cash's version is terrific. Although using the fact that it won a grammy doesn't really enhance its credibility.
