Where's the quality? Where's Inq? Where're his examples of quality? | '?!' is not correct standard punctuation.
You did understand what he meant, did you not? The purpose of language is to make somebody think something, not to see how close you can adhere to rules. As long as the general idea has been conveyed, there is nothing wrong with the language he uses. |

By the title, I thought this thread was about a transvestite.

OH NO ... it is not only a person who fences epee but a member of the spelling and grammar police. Whatever shall I do? I think perhaps I should explain stereotypes or acting in a stereotypical behavior pattern i.e. all people who fence sabre tend to fall on the low end of the intelligence pool. Perhaps I should explain sarcasm?
Nay, I say nay again, I should be dragged away from my keyboard and flogged in front of the general populace. Woe is me. I now hang my head in shame and slink off to whimper in the corner. I thank thee for that most rousing critique of my hastily written post.
Most humbly yours,
Rick |

| We don't need 4K+ of posts to prove our worth, anymore than we need three minutes of fencing time to score 5 points, or nine minutes to score 15... maybe.
Using the point and the edge is clearly more efficient than just using the point. Quod erat demonstrandum.
(And ellipses have three dots when they come in the middle of a sentence... ...like this... .... and four dots when they come at the end of a sentence....)

You will never use more than three dots, in any situation. I guess english has different writing rules...
(There's also no space between the three dots and the following word, unless the following word is the first word of a new sentence, and thus should be spelled with a capital letter.)

Thats what I explain to people right away when they ask about fencing. "There are 3 weapons, any person of a particular weapon is going to hate those who fence the other 2 with a passion, thats just how it goes."
My family thinks I'm nuts now! |
