Fencing Video Games - Wii and others?

I'm posting out of the blue after a long absence so bear with me or just skip this post

I have been on a longtime quest to get a video game fencing fix. My latest hopes have been pinned on the Wii.

I currently own "Zelda: TP" and have rented "Red Steel" and "Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz". Each of those titles have, um, I suppose we can call it "sword play" in them. "Red Steel" was the title that first caught my attention a few years ago (I cover the video game industry). It has gotten mixed reviews and personally I didn't like it that much because you were forced to use your gun most of the time and though it had an ok fencing system compared to the others it was still rudimentary. It seems like the major title games are focusing on slashing and not modern sport fencing moves.

In the Super Monkey Ball title there is "Monkey Fencing" where the monkeys really are supposed to be fencing using wooden poles, they even fence on a strip of sorts, it's cute but the motion controls are not really utilized. and you control their feet by a joystick, not through your body.

So... there are a few more titles coming out which might be better but I'm hoping for a "real" fencing game that can be played on the Wii.

Any suggestions on Wii titles you have heard with fencing? Anyone with me in petitioning Nintendo to make a real fencing game? Any fencing game devs out there who we can shove in front of Nintendo to get a license to make one?

There was already a thread on this. Search for it.

There is also a group on facebook petitioning to have a fencing game made and there have been ideas tossed around there as well.

Honestly though, I own a Wii and don;t think it work or at least not very well. It could never live up to real fencing and though I'm sure many fencers would buy it it probably wouldn't sell very much.

I did search, didn't find any Wii fencing game threads but I'll search again, maybe my results were buggy.

It's true a game couldn't live up to real fencing but maybe Wii 2.0 could interpret it better and it could be a cross over bridge to get non fencers intersted in the real thing.

I just want my "two great tastes" to taste great together Thanks for the tips though, I'll go look at facebook.
