I ended up not winning the scoring machine that I wanted, so new plan is to read a few dozen books and build by own. Programming a microcontroller can't be that hard... Plus I don't HAVE to have saber or epee, which makes it a bit more simple to build. I could use an Arduino probably to do it all.
For the reels, I'm watching an auction on them right now, but if that fails, I'll make bungee reels.
The material I can get once my dad's friend makes a trip to the dump. He throws away a lot of usable wood. He bought sheets of Masonite to protect a hardwood floor while scaffolding was in the house, and then just threw the Masonite away. Perfect indoor walls for a fencing hall
