Array Or just out of practice. You were cramming pretty much the entire summer, so I'd expect the recovery period to be a bit longer than the norm. -

Array no, i'm not a hipster. and i don't hate all hipsters, but i find a lot of them to be quite annoying.
i wore an outfit that apparently made others perceive me as one, because i wasn't really thinking about being judged on my appearance, and it was like LOL NO. I'M NOT A PRETENTIOUS HIPSTER, I SWEAR~ -

A breeze blows through a low canyon, swiftly and silently, working its way over the stones calmly resting in their eternal home. As it crosses a small, cool creek the breeze takes on a chill of its own. It starts to climb higher, scaling the walls of the cliff, rushing past the few plants tenacious enough to live in such a dark place, and soon crests the lip of the cliff face. Standing on the ledge is a man, and the breeze brushes the back of his neck before carrying on in its flight. A shiver runs down the man’s spine, shaking his body and his soul, not caused by the touch of the breeze, but of the thought that just ran through his mind. “Nothing is holding me back.”
The man is alone in his world. He gazes down, past his feet, past the edge of the earth, deep into the valley below. His eyes trace the contours of the stream and the stones, but he is only aware of the vast emptiness before him. “Nothing, absolutely nothing.” He thinks to himself. Slowly his focus pulls back to the ground beneath him, finally settling on his own feet. His gaze lingers for a moment before he is suddenly overtaken by the urge to simply step off and embrace the meaninglessness of existence.
The man is alone in his freedom. No forces outside of his own mind coax his step forward or plead with him to return to safety. His fate rests on his decision. “Should I lean forward, just a little more, this would be the end.” He pauses for a moment and wonders of that would be such a bad thing when his thoughts are interrupted as two birds fly over his head. The first lands on branch across the gorge and begins to sing to the sky while the second flies straight and true into the nothingness of the world, vanishing over the horizon. “Neither of them are real. Is anything real?”
The man is alone in his thought. Whatever action he takes he will still be alone in an absurd and meaningless world, if only for a short while longer. The only thing he is sure of is that a decision of such magnitude shouldn’t be made hastily. As he stands on the ledge, contemplating his fate, a breeze rushes through the valley below. It crosses the cool stream and takes on a slight chill. It works its way forward and begins to rise, passing the moss and the shrubs, cresting over the lip of the cliff. It passes by the man and gently brushes his neck as it carries on into the emptiness before it.

Me = Inept to latest fads/groups/labels/etc... well, you will often see hipsters wearing shirts of (and listening to) bands you've never heard of. and they frequently wear gladiator sandals, too. -

Array Ohhhh.... I thought those were the emo kids. Or are those the ones with the guys that wear their little sisters pants? -

Array some parts of emo and indie styles overlap, like the fact that they both wear skinny jeans. emo kids don't really listen to "obscure" bands per se, they listen to emo bands. some of which may be obscure because you've never heard of them, but they don't pride themselves on listening to bands you've never heard of and then disliking those bands as soon as other people start to get wind of them the way emo kids do. -

Array you'd be more likely to mistake an emo kid for a scene kid than a hipster.
i'm just trying to explain the differences, but yeah... i agree. i just listen to what i like, end of story. -

Certainly they won't think this low man on the totem pole could circumvent the system. I did it because I was not happy with the orignal decision from top bureaucrats... and I was bored at work. -

Still, who comes up with this stuff? I remember when scene was new and everyone was like, 'wtf is scene?' xD
Honestly, what next, you know?
(As for shoes, don't forget the converse. Hipsters and emos and scenes all wear them; goths seem to wear vans, etnies, other fat shoes, etc.)
