Agh, sorry I disappeared last night.

The last time it fritzed out, I couldn't get back on. Server was too busy.

I was wondering why you weren't saying anything. I was having the same problem. You'd think the server wouldn't be as busy in the middle of the night, eh?

For those interested, I finished up that late night insomnia attack I started the other night. I sometimes do short scenes like this when I have an idea for a new character, though I'm not always sure where to take it. C'est La Vie.

I have been playing with Linux Mint 6 KDE edition all day. I installed it late yesterday. I was running 6 Main Edition (Gnome), but I like KDE better than Gnome - for no good reason.

But, while KDE 4 is cool candy and fun to play with, the overhead is just not worth it.

I'm gonna try the Fluxbox edition next.

Time for anothe OS install! =^_^=

    It won't resolve.

Here is the sermon I just delivered
There are not many things I am sure of in life, but here is one thing I do know: We are all familiar with the Easter story. We know that Jesus was crucified, dead, and buried. We know that on the third day he rose from the dead. We know he died for out sins.

    Imagine...
But imagine for a moment we didn't know how it ends. Imagine we were followers of Jesus, watching the story as it broke.

By this morning the story would have already been over. If we had been watching from the very start we would have seen Jesus' following grow. Each week and day more and more stories would have been coming in about the miraculous deeds he was preforming. We would have put more and more hope and faith into him, when suddenly everything fell apart.

Over the past days we would have watched the cell phone videos of Jesus being arrested. Our TVs would have been tuned to his trial, and we all would have solemnly read the verdict in the newspapers. That is as far as I can take this in modern times, because we lack any form of execution as painful and agonizing as crucifixion. But imagine watching CNN and seeing a bloodied Jesus dragging his own cross up the road. Every channel you turned to would be showing the nail driving into his hand again and again is slow motion replays. Imagine being able to watch the agony on his face, and finally watching him die.

We would have all turned our Televisions Off by this morning. The story was over. Done. He was dead. Everything we had hoped for was gone. It would have ended three days ago. Today we are all sitting at home, still reeling from the vision of the passion. Some of us might look for comfort. We turn the TVs back on to search for something to numb the pain, but instead of finding Fresh Prince re-runs or Gossip Girl, we find a breaking alert. Every station is telling us the same thing: Jesus' body has been lost. Some of us might pick up a cell phone and text our friend to turn on the TV. Others might just stay sitting, staring at the scree. The story begins to develop. Some of Jesus' closet confidants are being interviewed and claim Jesus has visited them. I know I would be skeptical, but too engrossed to look away. Then more people start claiming to have seen him. Eventually, it would all culminate in the money shot of Jesus strolling across a street with his disciples, like the video of Big Foot crossing a stream, but real. Imagine the uproar the world would be in! As family matter put it "it's a rare condition, in this day and age, to read any good news on the newspaper page." But all of that would be turned upside down by this. It truly would be the Gospel. It truly would The Good News.

    Fortunately...
Fortunately, we didn't have to live through that. We didn't have to witness our lord being crucified and die. Fortunately, we do know how the story ends and can go straight to Jesus' triumphant victory over death, and not just victory over his own death, but victory over every death for every last person. All we have to do is accept his offer of life. It really is that easy. It truly is The Good News.

    But...
I imagine the entire Easter story something like childbirth. I had no part in my own birth. I don't remember being there or how it happened, but my mother does. she remembers the pain she lived through, and though it might have seemed unbearable at the time, she lived through it.
Some of you who are more skeptical out there might be wondering why Jesus would be willing to suffer and die for us. Again, I imagine it the same as childbirth.

As it happened, Jesus was suffering; he was pained, but he lived. And just like a mother giving birth who gets to hold her child, basking in the glow of new life, so does Jesus get to know that we have new life in him. And as thankful as I am to my mother for giving me life, I am just as thankful to Jesus for giving me life anew.
