You know how it is. You could be walking down the street, at work, or even sitting on your butt in your own home when it happens. A song plays on the radio. You see someone with a similar hairstyle, maybe catch the scent of the same perfume she used to wear. You could overhear someone say something she used to say in the exact way she said it. And just like that, the dame is on your mind. It doesn't take much to bring a memory back. The slightest word or gentlest breeze can wrench a hole in your heart wide open. A hole she used to fill. After awhile, you get used to it being there. The hole closes up, feels smaller. Some days you don't even feel it at all. But it doesn't take much to bring everything rushing back to mind, like a brick to the face. And when the dame is on your mind, there's nothing in the world that can make you feel whole again. You just have to keep moving on until the memory fades once more. It can be so vivid, recollections, memories of the good times, how she smells, how she tastes, even how she feels in your arms...
But she's gone. And nothing the world is going to bring her back. Nothing in the world would make you want her back. The only thing left to do is to keep walking.
And not look back.
