Good morning all - Matt, KidLazy - how are your days going. I have 150 emails to deal with, I was gone three f'ing days. God help me when I am gone for a week. However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally take a look at the results. ~ Churchill

I hear you had a 4-point lead on the eventual sliver medalist. What happened there? Only 3-points and I lacked the courage to truly commit to a second intention action. She crowded distance, never took a parry (just vertical movement on the blade and with a lefty that is a pain) and pushed you to the end of the strip so you had little room to maneuver. She would make a huge rush as her first actions to get you to retreat - I got her on two attacks into that rush and she adapted, but still pushed. Tried as I might I could not get her to retreat and I ended up too crowded when I went to make my actions.
Plus on my last touches I lost my back hip was killing me - felt great through the first part of the bout - but the last touches I would put weight on my back leg and I would be in real pain. It was not cramps, it was pain though the liagments of the hip and back pain. Ultimately I lost because I got anxious - next time I will do better. Mark was pretty frustrated with me and my fencing in the vet.
