it's the highest rank of angel. there are 3, were 4 until Lucifer got cast to hell. The 3 Archangels are Michael, Raphel, and Gabriel.

How many guardian angels does a person have, normally?

It all depends. True guardian angels probably one. But, you can have other angels that "hang out" by you. For example: Rachel has Ed as her guardian angel (Ed was a friend of mine that died years before Rachel was born. I never talk about him, but she did, so I pulled out a picture that was in a box, and asked her if she knew anyone in the picture. She identified everyone in the picture, even "Ed her angel man") and she sees him when things are about to happen, but she also sees other angels. Nick sees them too, but doesn't talk about them the way she does.

No... mine are not really "working" and I think it has something to do with this,

My kids see ghosts, and angels. When we were in Worcester, they told me about this place we were and it was haunted. I said "ok". After we got home I was watching a show on hauntings, and the place we were was listed.

Was your gaurdian angel Lucifer and now he is in hell? Or are your angels perhaps on a really long lunch and you are only being covered by the service - like at your doctor's office. The service answers the phone but, in the end, can only take a message.
