| And unless they are talking about more than one Adam Jones that apostrophe is incorrectly used as well...

And it should be "where we are as a business...." The "at" dangles and is superfluous.

| Here's a simple one... This one won't be much of a challenge. I pulled it off the website for the town of Kennebunk, Maine. How horribly embarrassing that someone with third grade English skills is representing this town to all the world. Kennebunk is rich with tradition and history. Rolling hills and a wide array of open spaces make our town a truly unique and special place. Originally an agricultural and shipbuilding settlement, Kennebunk has evolved into a favorite destination for travelers worldwide. From the Sea Captain Mansion's on Summer Street to the beautiful flowing Mousam and Kennebunk rivers, there is certainly something in Kennebunk for everyone to enjoy.
See this travesty yourself at www.kennebunkmaine.org. |

| Oh, this is just ugly. Yup, the old "error" thread has been in a coma for a while. On occasion, I thought about reviving it. When I read this quote by Lt. Clint Nichols, I simply had to do it. “Whether or not the property belonged to Mr. Simpson or not is still in debate,” Lt. Clint Nichols said Sunday. “Having said that, the manner in which this property was taken, we have a responsibility to look into that, irregardless of who the property belonged to.” |

| And the whole thing ends in a preposition. It's still my position that this is invariably a solecism..."irregardless" of numerous stated opinions to the contrary in f.net arguments.
"Irregardless", BTW, is almost my father's favorite word. Is it any wonder I foam at the mouth about grammatical blunders?

| This is a paragraph from an AP report.
Sen. Joseph Lieberman, I-Conn., said he thought Columbia's invitation to Ahmadinejad was a mistake "because he comes literally with blood on his hands." |

No matter how powerful the figure of speech, it's still "figuratively", not "literally". |

I remember a newscaster, years ago, saying that an individual "literally turned the world upside down." WHAT?????????? If it's your profession to use language to convey information to the public, learn how to use the language! |
