| I think "shark net" would be a good name for a band.

| Dude, if there are 5 shark attacks in one year on a beach, there's an issue with that beach. There aren't 5 shark attacks a year in, like, the planet. |

| I suppose it's possible, in 1995, 3 swimmers died from shark attacks in 10 days at a beach in Hong Kong.
And last year there were 62 total attacks in the world.

| very short survey.
But if you get 3 shark attacks in 10 days, wouldn't you have to look at issues such as migration patterns?
I know down in Florida at a certain time of the year sharks swim very close to Miami beach as part of an annual migration...

Do a search for "Matawan Creek". Five within 2 weeks.
Durban, South Africa, had 7 in a 3-month period back in 1957.

| The survey failed to take into account that I don't really swim at the beach anyway, regardless of sharks. |

The sea close to your hometown is home to the small-spotted catshark, http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/Spec...ary.php?id=845 and the nursehound, http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/Spec...ary.php?id=854
In Swedish waters, the basking shark, which is recorded as traumatogenic, has also been observed, http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/Spec...mary.php?id=90
The piked dogfish has a poisonous spine: http://www.fishbase.org/summary/Spec...ary.php?id=139
While not a shark, the greater weever likes to hide in the sand, with only its poisonous back spines sticking up. They do that in very shallow water (up to a meter) and there have been numerous occasions where swimmers have stepped on them. The poison is about as strong as that of a wasp, and has caused at least one recorded fatality. http://www.fishbase.org/summary/Spec...ry.php?id=1363
All of those creatures can be seen, stuffed, at the Gothenburg Museum of Natural History.
Have a nice summer holiday at your ordinary summer place!

| I knew that, Peter...
...but the 'Brugd' (or the 'Håkäring' sharks) that lives here usually keep out deep at see and VERY rarely swim in to the beaches; which was my statement.

| Besides, you have that thick layer of ice between you and any sharks.
