Array Do you deserve your HS diploma? Here's a little test for that's not bad. Unfortunately it gives you the percentage you got right, but does not seem to let you know exactly which ones you got wrong. http://www.gotoquiz.com/do_you_deser...school_diploma
(BTW, I got 97%) "In theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice, theory and practice are different." -
97% as well.
I've never heard of a dangling modifier. -
97% as well though i'm not sure what i got wrong.
i suspect there's an incorrect question -
Yeah.
"Twelth Night"? Come on... -

Array 74%
I never even saw most of that in High School.
(I went to a vocational school. Got a dual machining/academic diploma. The academic part is pretty worthless.)
About half of that test was stuff I never saw. Magna Cart, Columbus, Russia in WW2. All stuff I picked up on my own.
ANd I have never read Shakespeare.
What can I say? Canadian Public Vocational High Schools have lax standards. The preceding post brought to you by Rabid Monk (TM). Rabid Monk: informative, irreverent, interesting, random and downright odd posts, done with pride since 1983. -

Array It seems mostly random.
I did it again, answered the same answeres, did it quicker, and got 69%. The preceding post brought to you by Rabid Monk (TM). Rabid Monk: informative, irreverent, interesting, random and downright odd posts, done with pride since 1983. -

Array 69%, I'm in 8th grade though. "Moxie, its like sewage made of win." -

Array 68-84% Pretty good, you know that there are libraries and newspapers, and you remember what you've read. You were a child that wasn't left behind!
80% -

Array I got the trig question wrong, because I couldn't remember the trig answer from the top of my head, and didn't care enough to think hard.
Google 'dangling modifier' for explanations of this way to write without being clear. Some of the good explanations are http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dangling_modifier http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handou...g_dangmod.html "In theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice, theory and practice are different." -

Highlight to reveal. It's white so as not to spoil things.
I still don't know which Shakespearean play is not a tragedy, though. The preceding post brought to you by Rabid Monk (TM). Rabid Monk: informative, irreverent, interesting, random and downright odd posts, done with pride since 1983. -

The triangle one isn't trigonmetry. It's just the area of a triangle, which is one half the base times height. Even if you don't know that, you can just work through it, because a right triangle is just half a rectangle.
I wonder how many people got the question wrong about Iran being Arabic. -

Array Maybe.
I got 100% on the grammar quiz, though. The preceding post brought to you by Rabid Monk (TM). Rabid Monk: informative, irreverent, interesting, random and downright odd posts, done with pride since 1983. -

I still don't know which Shakespearean play is not a tragedy, though. duh, that's what I get for sloppy reading!
Twelth (sic) Night - they spell it wrong. See http://absoluteshakespeare.com/guide...lfth_night.htm for nice cheat sheet. Gosh, aint the Internet neat! "In theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice, theory and practice are different." -

Array 91%, but I wasn't taught most of that in high school. It needs to be longer. The pen may be mightier than the sword, but why pick just one? Similar Threads -
