| A Lame' Question!? yeah yeah, so after fencing foil today a guy gave me his lame'. Weird, I know...but hey, free lame'. Anyways it has his last name on it. If I were to enter the Div 3 NAC and I had my last name on a pair of knickers, would it be a problem that his name is on the back of the lame'? My common sense is telling me that it probably will be, but I just figured I would check with people who have some experience with those weird shiny metal things.

| Or you could simply cover the old name with a patch of lame fabric (just be sure to sew the edges properly so as to maintain conductivity). Then you could even have your own name printed on the patch. |

| ...Or you could just not worry about it. As long as Your name is on your knickers I believe you're fine.

| Tell her you've decided to take his name for fencing purposes only and with that you don't see any remaining point for a wedding, ever. |

| Trophy Lame' You, primarily an epeeist, fence a foil fencer and immediately after he gives you his lame? Dude, it's a trophy...put some antlers on it and hang it on the wall at the Club. |

| I can't imagine giving away a "working" lame' unless it made him look fat. I'd put an ohmeter on it and check to see if it's good for more than training. At our fencing club, my son's old lames, that he went through one after the other as he was growing, are worn by several students each night. It is odd to see two or three fencers with our name on them, fencing at practice.

| Gee, if I had known that loaning you one of our club lame's would get you back into foil, I would have done it a long time ago....

SCORE! | I would have sworn I'd picked up somewhere that your boyfriend is an epee fencer, so would have no lame to give you. |

Now that she's (potentially) switching from sabre (where the name on the jacket is not particularly relevant as it's rarely seen), the issue of the name on her back has suddenly popped up.

-B | Yes, Boy is an epeeist. Yes, it seems I'm switching (for at the very least this semester, probably reaching until I graduate from college at the very least). However, the issue of my mother being crazy on this particular issue isn't new--- she was really upset by it even when no one was seeing it.
I was just under the impression that now that I have money for going to Nationals (although I still don't know if whatever I do this semester will give me time off....) I would actually have to do something about it. Continuing to make my mother massively uncomfortable on this issue is actually a priority of mine (NO, mom, my boyfriend isn't going anywhere. See!), so I'm glad that I can just put my name on my knickers and have it there for epee and sabre. |

| Has any one seen the new note on page 18 of the rule book. The letters for the name can now be up to 15 cm high.
