Anybody know where to get the strap for an Allstar mask? You know, the elastic strap that goes across the back of the mask, and velcros to either side? Anybody know a place online I can purchase one of those from? I know that they sell the replacement "Comfort Plus" lining at a few places, but haven't been able to find the strap. I was able to get a replacement velcro strap at BG in Columbus... it was a slightly different size (wider and perhaps shorter), but it works... get in touch with them.
Also, PBT sells the velcro straps... they say pbt, but they attach to uhlmann masks, I can't imagine that allstar masks are any different.

Are you sure they will attach? I think I tried attaching an Uhlmann strap onto a PBT mask, it didn't work because it was soft to soft, but the mask might have been Negrini. Just something to consider. -

Array Matthew Porter told me that American Fencing has them. Whoopee! My avatar is back. -

Array You could also just make your own....a little bit of velcro, elastic, and a needle & thread.
Just make sure to sew one of the ends together so you don;t lose it. -

That's because he has to deal with Allstar USA, which is a completely different, unhelpful beast than Allstar.de entirely, so he probably can't get the strap he needs. A few years ago I needed to replace my long-size kit; I was told by Allstar USA that they did not carry long-sizes and would not special order any. It was amazing how helpful they became after an email to Allstar headquarters in Germany stating that their US supplier was not supplying! At least now I don't have to use them anymore and can get what I need without the headache. At least that's how they used to operate; perhaps things have changed.

Damn you Chris! *shakes fist*
Yeah, I've called the US allstar dealer and they had a no go. Then I stopped by their booth at Columbus, and again a no go. Very grrrrrr. "Life is like a wheel, where everyone steals, but when we rise, it's like Strawberry Fields." -
I feel your pain, J.! Seriously, Sam's needle-and-thread solution to the madness is what I would do; why pay extra for a strip of elastic and velcro, plus shipping? -

How about Fechtsport-Langenkampf?
They will most likely just ship it in a little envelope, hey presto. -

Array Rather than battle Allstar USA just ask vendors who carry Uhlmann masks (which includes almost everyone else).
The strap will be identical to what you would get from Allstar and there are a larger number of potential suppliers. -
The elastic and needle and thread way to make your own is easy and cheap. (Even if you have to get someone to do it for you.) I bought a hlaf yard of wide elastic and made up a couple just leave the extra in my bag in case one gets lost. -
Needle and Thread I agree, as someone who had made several of them, definitely a good way to go. You should be able to find a fabric store in your area. I recommend a Joanne Fabrics store, they'll have the necessary elastic, about 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches wide. As well as the velcro about the same width. Needle and thread will work, but if you know someone who can use a sewing machine, that would be better. If sewing by hand, upholstery thread's the best. It'll hold up longer than regular sewing thread.
Also, be sure to take your mask with you as to get the right length of elastic, plus a little extra.
