    Did you all read this:

The Merowe dam is a controversial hydro-electric project -- one of the largest in Africa -- being erected on the Nile's fourth cataract and due to start flooding the valley over more than 100 miles (160 kilometres) within months.

Did you know that ancient Egypt used to do the same thing. Basically the engineers used to flood the area and then hold back the river during certain times of the year. They were one of the first civilzations to develop cultivation to such a high extent.

Slim, that's got to be the most spectacular non-sequitur I've ever seen. Well done.

And the competition is fierce, too.
Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you!

we're not allowed to talk about global warming. get it. Let's talk about E8 did anyone see it?

It looks like the space ship on Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind.
And, it's supposedly the size of the Island of Manhattan.
Is it evil? remember MC2 or benign like PhiR2

    Poor Al Gore

Perhaps he's concerned he's not going to get the Hollywood treatment tomorrow:

I wouldnt be surprised if he pulls out at the last minute.

I don't think Al Gore does anything heavy enough to warrant going into a Hollywood Treatment center, but he DID win an oscar. I thought it was good, we have to remember, he's not a genius, and certainly not a scriptwriter. Whoever thought of the Submarine doing a 'periscope up' thing through the tundra was really wrong; and whoever included George Bush's Big Brother like image in the film should be indicted for counter-espionaging a film designed to inform the sleeping nation of the perils at hand.

I think Global Warming is a bunch of BS. If you look at temp. graphs next to CO2 graphs, CO2 rose after temp. rose. That's right, warming causes CO2, not the other way around. The sun's activity has more to do with warmth. Also, man only contributes 3% of all CO2 to the atmosphere. Not only that, but CO2 isn't the most common greenhouse gas. Even Al Gore said so. Water Vapor accounts for 95% of all greenhouse gases. And greenhouse gases aren't even the only factor in global temp. change. So, manmade CO2 is only a tiny portion of one reason for temp. change.
As for the ice caps melting, give me a break. Artcic Seas are falling by 2mm each year, not rising. Most of Antarctica is getting colder as well. I also saw a temp. map in NG a few months ago. Red was warming and blue was cooling. 2/3 of the whole southern hemisphere were blue! So how is this Global Warming? It should be called Northern Warming.
Hurricanes are not getting worse either. There were how many hurricanes that made US landfall in 2006? What about 2007?

Go to the Global Warming Hoax Thread under Water Cooler to debate further.
