    Reply to Peter

Peter, I can't get into your thread, will extend on it later. But for now, I am struck by the interesting thought of Colin Powel running for election. I mentioned him several times and thought he would run,but he pulled out of the pre-race race, as he had rec'd some threats. That was in the year 1995 I believe I was still in New York at the time and thought he made a mistake pulling away from the candidacy He's smart, has military experience which is a plus in that he understands both the folly and the necessity of war. In other words I believe he has a balanced viewpoint Not to mention the fact that he can dance a mean marquetta [I can't spell the name of that dance for anything. But Hiliary does not turn me on at all. Just another Junior Leaguer with dyed blonde hair in a red jacket and gold watch band. That was the uniform of all good old girls way back. I had hoped that someone with some real intellegence would run. I'm looking for an intellectual not last years prom queen. Peter, I hate to ask this question but what happened to the story about the lunatic who killed the Swedish PM? Anything?

He's imprisoned and has asked to be transferred to a prison in his native country Serbia (or whichever Balkan country he's originally from).

We will not let him be transferred until his native country can guarantee that he will have to serve the time he's been sentenced to. (I fail to remember the number of years, but am sure Peter remembers.)

Wow, thanks I thought he was still running around. Well, crime does not pay. Really thanks for filling me in. There's been so much I couldn't keep up with the story. And for some reason, we didn't carry too much about it here in the US.

Actually, in this case it was ZZ getting the people mixed up.

The man suspected to have shot the Prime Minister Olof Palme was convicted in local court, got the conviction overturned in circuit court, and the state attorney failed to get the Supreme court to take up the case, since he could not show that he could present substantial new evidence. He died a year ago of brain hemorrage (IIRC) after many years as drunkard and druggie. That murder happened in 1986, so it is fast approaching the 25 year statute of limitation for murder in the Swedish penal code. This will happen in 2011.

The man that ZZ is referring to stabbed and fatally wounded our Minister of Foreign Affairs Anna Lindh. He was sentenced to life in prison, which in Sweden can mean anything from 10 years up, depending on what the legal system thinks when clemency pleas are fielded. He had from the beginning double Swedish/Serbian citizenship, and was born in Sweden. However, he legally renounced his Swedish citizenship after sentencing, ostensibly in order to make extradition easier.

And no, I did not remember the sentence. I got the sentence from Swedish Wikipedia.

    Have a nice time!

    Min. Of For. Affairs

Thanks again. It was originallly incorrectly reported here. Maybe due to all the hustle and bustle. What a horrible man, the idea of just walking up to a stranger and doing them in is just unbelieveable. I could never do that to a person, except I did once hope to become a mob mall. I wonder why Foreign Affairs, do you think he took the job title literally, and maybe he thought she was having affairs and so he like, took matters into his own hands.

Do you remember the nutcase who walked up to Dan Rather and said "What's the frequency Dan" with that he tried to kill him. Also, there were a few incidences that went unsolved: 1. in New York a young woman was walking down the street, she happened to be wearing a pair of purple gloves and a man shot her to death. 2. the person who tried to destroy The Little Mermaid was never caught. I wonder if the Mermaid guy was the same one who did the Foreign Affairs person. They usually do similar things - both incidences were very high profile and the targets were big too.

Oh, I didn't pay attention to the abbreviation. I assumed introspective meant Anna Lindh, simply because that was the most recent incident.

    Sorry about the confusion.
