Open Epee Tournament on Jan. 5th, 2002 in Huntsville, AL

Greetings Fencers & Coaches,

The Huntsville Fencing Club will host it's annual HAC and Slash Tournament on Saturday, January 5th, 2002 at the Huntsville Athletic Club (HAC) in Huntsville, AL. This year the tournament will be Open Mixed Epee.

We invite all epeeists from the region and those that happen to be in the area at this time to gather in Huntsville and see who is left standing at the end of the day! If you have a passion for epee and love a challenge, then this event is for you!

Barring that the weather does not prevent fencers from attending, this event will most likely be at least a Group B1 competition. So, if you would like to update or earn a new classification then you should have the opportunity.

Current USFA membership is required and as always, you may sign up for membership on site. USFA rules will be enforced. Weights and shims will be checked periodically (once in the pools and DE bouts).

Registration: 11:00 - 12:00 PM; fencing will begin at 12:15 PM!
(Remember all times are in Central Standard Time)

Entry Fee: $20.00

Pre-registration is NOT required. However, in order to help your hosts provide the most efficient event possible, please contact Brian Parker parkerbj1@juno.com to let us know if you are coming, or if you have any questions.

For maps and directions to the venue, HAC, go to our website: Huntsville Fencing Club Homepage

The venue for this event, HAC, has a restaurant, bar, showers, sauna, whirlpool, and a massage therapist (Tranquil Touch). We have been granted the use of indoor tennis court #1 and #2 for this tournament. These tennis courts will give us enough space to set up as many fencing strips as needed. Not to mention the lighting and footing is excellent. This will allow spectators to watch the event from the upstairs restaurant in comfort.

Please help spread the word to everyone, especially those epeeists, in your club! Look forward to seeing you there!!!
