2007 North Atlantic Sectionals All,
Just a friendly heads up.
Preliminary info for the 2007 North Atlantic Sectional Events has been posted: http://www.nas-usfa.org
The quick and dirty:
Junior / Cadet Sectionals
April 28th & 29th
Vassar College
Poughkeepsie, NY
Senior Sectionals
May 5th & 6th
SUNY - Purchase
Purchase, NY
New this year:
Online entry with askFRED. The section finally accepts entry via credit card!
All events are hard seeded.
What does this mean?
As entries are received and processed, they will be immediately entered into a seeding list. This list will be continuously updated between now and the event. Seeding will lock in on the Thursday before the event. Anyone needing to correct seeding information needs to contact me to have it fixed before then.
What is the benefit? Faster event starts. Without having to confirm people's classifications and then fix them in the computer, the events can start that much faster.
For people worried about ratings fraud: I will be personally checking each rating against the USFA membership extract that I can get from the office. In addition to verifying classification information, it will also allow me to confirm membership ahead of time, saving time in the check in line for athletes.
I hope to make these events great for the fencers.
Thanks,
Wayne Jenness
NAS Section chair -
It has come to my attention that many people are having trouble accessing the section website.
I talked to our hosting provider, and they informed me that this was due to a routing issue somewhere between them, and several large providers (Comcast among them). They know about it and are trying to get it resolved.
In the meantime, the information has been posted to askFRED, and the mail in entry form for Junior / Cadet sectionals is available on the New England Division site. Junior/Cadet Championships

I'm gonna miss you guys. That's too bad... I've got a couple things planned for next year (assuming I get re-elected...)

-w Maybe I'll come back and ref it, or see if I can stay registered as a WNY fencer. "If I were ever to challenge you to a duel, your best bet would be battle axes in a very dark basement." Misquoted from The Prisoner

Array You might want to fix the "more info" section of the askfred for the junior sectionals. At least from what I see, The syntax on the punctuation marks got messed up, must have copy-pasted it or something, makes it hard to read. -

-B Perfect! I'll just steal an RFC armband next time I'm in Rochester. "If I were ever to challenge you to a duel, your best bet would be battle axes in a very dark basement." Misquoted from The Prisoner
