Please excuse my total ignorance about things military. I must have served with Florence Nightingale in the Crimean War and chose to re-enter this lifetime as a nurse- hey, maybe that's why I like fencing.. but how about "General". I knew a man who served in the military and he was always called General, even though that was not his name. I use to call him "General" as a kid. It was cool.
