| Eat Your Heart Out, "B" Movie Fans! Today I met Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, Brisco County JR., etc.). He was doing a book signing at Borders for his autobiography.
And he's JUST as funny in person as he is on the screen (cute, too!).
Would you believe I missed a fencing tourney for this opportunity?

| Joel,
I'll bring the book to GUSH about on Friday. We had a blast listening to some of the things he said to the people in line.
I'm very proud to report that I did NOT turn into a blithering idiot. I was able to converse with him like a normal person.
On a side note, I started the book...I'm now a fan on a whole other level. This guy is REAL.

| Hey Joel, whatever happened to your "feeble" attempt at writing?

Apparently it was just that.."feeble" I received a couple of PMs from someone who thought my work was not suitable to be posted so I decided to withdraw my "feeble" attempt!

#7 | | Guest | Hey Joel, Don't listen to the critics uless you see that their writing is far superior to yours....None of us are professional writers here except for Moonitic that I know of. We are just expressing our creativity and having a good time.
If someone critisizes and does not offer good solid advice you can use to improve, they are as clanging gongs; making a lot of noise, but not saying anything.
Besides, I think you did a wonderful job and I'm a language arts teacher. | |

| In my professional opinion, Joel...
SCREW THEM if they don't like your work. For every 1 good review, authors can face 5 (or more)bad reviews. Focus on that one good, & forget about the 5 bad.
And now you know why you have to be a cocky little bugger to succeed as a writer! It's just overcoming the negative criticism.

| Though it could use some polish, "feeble" wasn't the word I had in mind.
Let's not forget, I review books as a hobby. When I'm not writing them, that is.

| Just always remember the commentary on Fred Astaire's first audition...

Go get 'em.
