| I can only speak from my recent experience, Peach (like, since October). It's been HECK getting bookstores to carry my books, or to schedule signings. Other writers in the groups I'm involved in have said the same thing. And, of course, because of my contract, I HAVE to keep promoting myself & be available for interviews & such. Ugh...I'm not enjoying THAT part of the process!

| Oh, I kind of enjoyed it. Especially talking to writing groups - many of those people wrote better than I did, they just weren't as shameless in sending out their stuff as I was.
I admit I didn't like the signings where four people showed up, one of them my mother.
Just keep repeating to yourself, "Somebody actually freaking bought my BOOOK!" Worked for me.

| Let's all write a book together.
An adventure story, about a kid named Wo-Fat who solves crimes with his friends.
....Wo-fat walked quickly down the darkening sidewalk towards his home. It was almost dark and he was feeling a little nervous. Walking with him were two school mates and they also had to hurry home. Their parents were pretty strict about their time away from home. They had to pass a few old buildings and they didn't like doing that. Wo-fat looked over his shoulder and saw an old man getting up from the ground. He looked like he had slept out on the sidewalk all night long and he was dirty and smelly. They boys heard him call out to them, but they pretended not to hear. The old man was insistent and called out again, "hey you kids, hey come here" he seemed to stumble and the boys all ran. Wo-fat ran to the corner and stopped. Suddenly he saw another man or lady, he couldn't be sure, run up to the old man and hit him. The old man fell down and didn't move. Wo-fat stared and the other boys stopped running. The old man tried to say something, but the person standing over him, turned and glared at the boys. WO-fat's friends ran up to him and grabbing him by the arm, yelled "RUN!" here he comes. The boys ran down the block their eyes, large as saucers.
[NEXT PERSON MUST CONTINUE..EVENTUALLY FENCING WILL APPEAR IN THE STORY] |

| And then Wo-fat realized he was trapped in a lame continuing story unrelated to the thread's topic and hung himself.
The End.

| Angel, I'll let you know. I hope to get the order in by the end of the month. Hubby just bought a stereo system (yes, I allowed him to...it was a great deal & he's always wanted it. He never gets things for himself!).

| Hey Moon!
I love it. When I was a kid, I was all about stories like this! I'm hooked!
Keep up the good work!

| Aww...thanks Hun. I wanted to get back to the more "pure entertainment" found in some of the stories from my youth. You'll have to let me know if you get it, so I can send you an autographed book plate. I've heard nothing but wonderful remarks about it, except from people who have never actually READ it. Kinda funny...they're generally the ones with the loudest opinion. Oh well...if that's what they want to do with their day...I've got better things to work on!

| Moon- I finally got off my b*** and ordered the book! And, when I finish reading it, I'll be passing it onto a special young lady at my club who is 12 years old!

| Thanks a bunch, gang! You're awesome!
I know that you can special order it from B&N. We're still working on getting them into the bookstores for good.
AND my second novel is at the publisher now, being considered. Take note, ladies: a female dragon slayer! What else? I'm really considering a sequel or two for Secrets of the Maiden. Call it peer pressure!

| I just read the first chapter. What happens next?! It looks really good. It does remind me of "Splashdance Silver", which is a good book. Yours looks better though.
I can't get it here in Australia at the moment, I guess I'll have to wait until it comes over here.
