Array Crescent City Open The Crescent City is back! With the great success of the Saints this year, why not bring back all the sports of the city? Come fence in the heart of the French Quarter. http://askfred.net/Events/whoIsComin...nament_id=3071
The Crescent City Open this year is March 17-18 at the downtown Hilton (for those curious, that’s about 6 blocks from Bourbon street).
Mixed and Women’s Events for all weapons.
Katrina did not destroy everything, and there’s plenty of fun to be had down in New Orleans, especially some good fencing. So come down to the Crescent City!
Awards are given for the top 8 in each event, including the Eugene Hamori award for Mixed Sabre. Crescent City Flyer

Array I tried to open the flyer, but it wouldn't work. How much does the tournament cost? -
Senior Member
Array It's $30 for registration and the first weapon, and then $15 for each additional weapon.
The flyer should work now.
Hope to see you there! -

Array Ok - one last dumb question. The tournament itself is at the Hilton Riverside, but the accommodations are at the Prince Conti Hotel? Are these two hotels near one another?
Thanks! -

Array The Prince Conti is about 0.8 miles away from the Hilton. If you stay at the Prince, I'd suggest getting a car/cab/ride from another fencer to get to the venue. I wouldn't suggest making that walk.
Even though we don't have accommodations for the Hilton, I don't think the Hilton people would mind if you stayed there.
Do a google search for the two hotels and you should see where they are.

Suggestions
Driving in:
If you are driving in and looking for a nice place, your best bet is the Marriott Courtyard Hotel. It is only $10 more than the Quality Hotel but 10 times nicer. There is FREE parking unlike the Prince Conti. In about 20 minutes you can be to the venue and the interstate is right next to the hotel, so getting lost is no excuse for being late.
Flying in:
If you are flying in, your best bet is the Prince Conti. Your only problem with the Prince Conti is that you'll have to get to the venue by taxi or walk about 11 blocks. On the plus side there is a shuttle from the airport to the hotel that cost $13.00, which is cheaper than a taxi.
