| OK, this is a quote I read somewhere, but I cant remember who said it - I't so true tho'
it's something along the line of "the majority of the battles I've lost never actually occured."

"And yet it moves"
or
"Nevertheless, it moves"
It is claimed that Galileo muttered this at the end of his trial for heresy for proving and expousing the Copernican (solar centric)view of the universe. In the quote he was referring to the Earth.
I just recently finished reading "Galileo's Daughter" and in this book, the author insinuates that this is actually a bit of legend.
I have to agree: Galileo would have to have been a fool to have barely avoided the death of a heretic (not pretty) and then muttered this which certainly have condemned him if it had been heard.
Galileo was a difficult man but not stupid.

The "tractor beam etc" one was Data, refering to the Borg ship.

| Stryder - Wrong on the "tractor beam". Guess again. And I am not a geek, I just didn't participate in the main extra-curicular activity at my high school, getting drunk and arrested, so I had a lot of free time on my hands.
Ich bin ein Berliner - JFK, translation - "I am a jelly donut."
