That's similar to "Who farted?" Don't steal my limelight.
Hey, if you had such a secure hold on your limelight I wouldn't be able tp grab it, right?

And last I heard ghosts don't fart!

Well, there's the old "Use the pointy end, stupid." Particularly important to tell us epeeists before we lumber onto the strip.

My husband tried out a cheer once that made me ask him to go sit in the car: "Hit 'em in the hand/Hit 'em where it hurts/Hit 'em in the foot/Make 'em live in yurts." And I bore him a son, my God.

I fenced in Scotland for awhile and our team captain made us give our opponents three cheers when we lost: "Three cheers for ----. Hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray" You can bet we said THAT with gusto.

Hey Moon' that whole grass thing would be perfect for our club. We fence in a concrete hall. (I am very worried about the state my knees will be in when I'm older) so we put down roll up bowling green mats, they look like grass!

Weezelbit were did you fence in Scotland?

Gav,
I spent a year at St. Andrews and fenced in the fencing club (about 1984-85). I never saw much of Scotland - only the insides of gyms.

Gav, feel free to use it anytime! It's certainly a head turner.

A couple others some of us use are:

"Grrr...argh"
&
"uuuuhhhh" (that's the sound a zombie makes...my close friend is scared to DEATH of zombies & we LOVE to tease him)

Luke 22:36 Luke 22 Luke 22:35-37 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

OK my club is a bunch of teenagers so ours can become pretty childish so much in fact the our coach says we are nothing but three-year-olds.
Now then lets see...
"Use your wrist darnit its a foil not a machete!"
"You corner...You other corner."
"Leave the fans alone!"
There are others but its been so long since we've used them I'm starting to forget them

At our club, if someone overbalances/trips etc its "you've done a Zelda". making reference to my atrocious balance.

callmecatzi: My club is similar; mostly college kids. Sometimes we'll start a practice bout with a tradition recitation of the rules... "Ok, I want a clean fight, none of this *grunt* none of this *grunt* and definately none of this!"
