Look more closely. The woman on the right has an epee, but the one on the left does indeed have a sabre.

No, that's an epee on the left, I think you're seeing part of the guard and thinking it connects to the pommel, if you look more closely you can see that the curve follows the other place you can see the guard.
Also, it has a point just like the other one.

I can't say about the guards, woman on the lefts hair is in the way. But both have Buttons. Asprin

There was a thread about this a while ago. It's a sabre. Also, if you go to the site linked above and watch the TV spot or the making of, it's very clear that it's a sabre.

This is looking at the 1280x1024 desktop image. It does appear to have a point, which I assume is a trick of the light.
However, you can clearly see the sabre guard, and you can't hold an epee like she's holding it.
