Array Hi, go to <a href="http://www.usfencing.org" target="_blank">www.usfencing.org</a>
Then go to information for memebers/where can I fence? and click on your state. There are 19 fencing clubs listed in the state of michegan.
Hope this helps! ... without remorse for the past, confident in the present, and full of hope for the future, [d'artagnan] went to bed and slept the sleep of the brave.

In addition to the USFA site you could go directly to the Michigan Division site. Here is the "clubs" page link...

Hope that helps,

what city do you live in? -
Thanks, I have been busy lately and have just gotten back to this site. I will check out those sites today and tomorrow. I am in Macomb County in for those in Michigan. I am still looking for any place near me, since fencing really looks fun. Thanks again. -

Array If you're in Southeast Michigan, thats where the largest number of clubs are in the state so you are in luck. I'm a fencer in Southeastern Michigan as well.

A club that i would recommend would be the Renaissance Fencing Club. Their phone number is: 248-616-0960. They're the only club that I know of in this area that has its own permanent site. They're located in Madison Hts, which as you may know, next to Macomb County.
Good luck.
btw- I recommend that club even though it's not even my club. -

Array Renaissance is a good club. A lot of the toughest competitors in the division fence there and they hold most of the tourneys. But if you want a year round fencing club that has air conditioning in these hot summer months, why not try the One on One fencing club in Ann Arbor, Michigan. David Wayt has 55 years of experience coaching fencing too. We meet Thursdays at 8 o'clock. The url is:

Array Heck, I teach fencing at Schoolcraft Community College, and even I think Renaissance Fencing Club is the best around! They're open 6 days a week, all the high rated fencers fence there, Matt and Todd, the owners, are great fencers and coaches both, Maestro Shapiro gives lessons there, they have a few permanent metal strips, they put on great tournaments with nice social events afterwards, the list goes on and on! Their only drawback is no big locker room or showers (there is one small shower, but I've never used it while there). In short, they are sort of my competition, and I highly recommend them. -
Doug, thanks for backing me up. One of the reasons why I didn't list any other clubs is that Erika had mentioned that she lived in Macomb county.
Renaissance is not my club either, I just like the facility. -

Array Hey, mifencer, do I know you? -
Thanks again for all the suggestions. I looked into the Renissance Fencing Club, except it is about 40+ minutes from my house, which wouldn't be too bad, except I cannot drive yet and I doubt that my mom would be willing to drive that far.
I found that Macomb Community College as one of their Community Eduaction/ fitness programs they offer is Fencing Introduction. It is at their Fraser Campus, which is close to my house. I am going to be asking my mom about it, hopefully she will let me try fencing.
Thanks again for all the suggestions. Similar Threads -
