Ah - When the site barfed and I moved it I ended up overwriting the images folder with the stock vbulletin image set. Gotta find the other backup of the old image set b/c I don't like the stock ones either.

Well, this evening ( about 10:30 pm, Mountain Standard Time ) I tried to access the fora again, and was unable to do so. After about 2 minutes I got an "unable to find server" page. At about 12:15 a.m. MST I was able to connect, no problem...
That's very helpful - gotta check with the host on what the backup routine is b/c it shouldn't be taking the server down.

I wrote an entry on the "Proverb" thread in the "Games" subforum. I hit the Submit Reply button. After about 9 minutes, I hit my browser's Back button. This took me to the end of the thread. I hit Refresh. After about a minute the page went to white. After 9 minutes or so I got the "Unable to find server" page. I hit Back again. Got "The page cannot be displayed". I got that every time I hit Back, until I was out of the fnet site altogether.

I then tried repeatedly to go to the fnet forums. Every time, after about 5 minutes, I got the "cannot find server" page. I kept trying. After an hour, I suddenly got back in.

Is it possible that the company which you're using does some sort of daily scheduled mainenance routine? Because this seems to be happening at the same time every night, now that I think of it.

Thanks - I'll check with the host on that one. Shouldn't be going down like that.

Found the old icons - they're back.

Oh - and for those reading this thread: I'm having some new general use avatars made up for the forum. We should see them in a couple of weeks.

Today the site went down completely even earlier than before, around 9 AM CET (Central European Time). Again, after a little more than an hour it came back up again.

Or not. I was looking at a cached version of the page.

Z - Working on figuring out where the old smileys are. I think it's time for some new ones too.

The site went down b/c one of the tables got corrupted and was throwing error messages into my inbox. I closed the forums to rebuild the index and then forgot that I had closed them down. (I ended up getting out of bed to turn them back on, lest I come in this morning to an inbox full of questions!)

    Aaawww!

On a side note: The 'online time' now seems to have been set back to 60 minutes instead of 30. *insert thumbs-up smilie here*

    Hi!

I just had a look at my own post list. I have a dot on the recent thread "Fencing #24 difficult according to ESPN" (or something like that) but when I looked at the thread my post had disappeared. It took quite some time to put together that tome.

Any chance of disappeared posts being put up again? What are the most likely reason(s) for them disappearing?'

    Have a nice time!
