    Uhlmann Tall Sizes

So... I got a new set of gear for Christmas. A beautiful set of All-Star Startex. Unfortunately, it is too short for me. I'm gonna be sending it back tomorrow in favor of a different size.

My question for you guys: Where in the US sells Uhlmann tall sized kit? If nobody in the US does, who can I get to ship these garments to the US? Also, do the tall sizes typically cost the same as their regular counterparts, or is there an extra charge?

    Thanks!

I'd probably try langenkamp (www.fechtensport-langenkamp.de). They've been good to me in the past, though the dollar was a lot better then than it is now. Though I expect most/any Uhlmann dealer could order it. As for cost, Langenkamp has the 'special size' listed as a 10% surcharge. In the current market, that works out to be 317 USD or so, and 45 USD or so for shipping. You can find them cheaper on US soil right now for the regular jacket, but I don't know about the tall.

If the sizing is right I have a never before used Uhlmann World Cup uniform I want to get off my hands... 102 tall size jacket and knickers... Price would be comparatively quite low as well...

to breakdown that sizing, it's built for:
    176-182 height
    96-100 chest
    88-92 waist
    104-108 hip

    (centimeters...)

Cerian, thanks for the offer, but I'd need a 98 jacket and 94 knickers. I'm a scrawney little guy.

Ank Keropie, thanks for the suggestion. I'll check them out right now.

    Any others come to mind?

    Thanks, Noodle.

Also, for anyone else who may be wondering, I called Absolute and they carry the tall sizes. They just don't list them online.

Thanks a lot everybody, for your help!

Yeah, as stated Absolute or The Fencing Post depending on what part of the country you are in. Fechtsport Langenkamp is great but with the dollar going the way of the peso it is not a very good deal anymore and shipping is a bear for small amounts of kit. Best to get in a group order with clubmates so the shipping can get split up.

    Just be careful ordering internationally...

I just got whacked with a decent customs charge on a large order (FIE jacket/knickers from Negrini, plus a glove). Never got any custom charge on smaller orders (less than $200US).

I am checking into if these charges are appropriate. But check first before you order.

Someone already mentioned Absolute, but I wanted to add that my son got his tall uhlmann uniform from Absolute at a tournament and was not charged any extra. ( my kid is so thin that it is a good thing the knickers have suspenders!)

odd, I received an email from them yesterday saying there was a 18% additional charge for special sizes.

I think that if you order from them in person, depending on who is running the booth you may get away without them noticing that they are supposed to up charge for larger sizes. If you order through the website though, expect to pay the premium.
