Array What is eligible for Division I? This has probably been discussed before, but since I couldn't find an answer after wading in the first 3 out of 20 pages of search results, I decided to create a new thread: What are the requirements to be eligible for fencing in Division I? I have heard alternately that it is just As, As and Bs, or As, Bs, and Cs. Looking at the results from Richmond, there many Cs and Bs (and some competing internationally) so I wasn't sure if they were all on the point standings for seniors?
Also, what is the difference between Div I and Div IA? -

Division I NAC's are tournaments for C and above rated fencers. Division 1 nationals is for the fencers who are on the Sr Points list OR the top 8 on the Jr Points OR the top 4 on the cadet points, (I'm not sure about the next ones, so oiuyt correct me if I'm wrong), the top 4 placers in Div 1a nationals or the winner of Division II nationals.
Division 1a is an event held at summer nationals for the qualifiers from sectionals, the winner of U-19 sectionals, and pretty much anyone decent who wants to petition.
Go read the Athletes Handbook. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -

Go read the Athletes Handbook. Or you could take your own advice... :)
Corrections to DFP's list, it's the top 8 of the previous year's DIA, top 4 of the previous year's D2. Addition to his list is 3 each in D1ME and D1WE entered by Modern Pentathlon.
