    What fencing needs...

A fencing video game. As long as it's not made by Koonami...

LucasArts does a fine job with their Jedi stuff. I'm playing Star Wars Obi-Wan on the Xbox, and although it's not "fencing", it IS fighting with the light saber.

In Jedi Knight II, you do A LOT of saber fighting against other Jedi, called Reborn. And there really is skill involved in weilding the weapon.

You have three different saber styles to fight with.

Fast and efficient, Defencive, and Strong.

They all have their advantages and disadvantages. You can use the strafe keys to do something of a cross over and strike at the mid-drift. You also can make attacks to the head, but they are generally blocked. You can parry and know the weapon away and be set up for a sure riposte. There's just a lot of different ways to handle the weapon.

It makes for some awesome multiplayer games over TCP/IP.

Hmm... I've been thinking there should be a fencer character in a final fantasy game... like I'm thinking ffVI style with a little dude who runs up and flicks the opponent and then runs back to where they're supposed to stand to wait their turn... and then there could be special attacks that are set up and involve parries and feints and what-not, and they'd do more damage but have a lower chance of working, and there'd be multi-turn attacks, the guy could scoot up a few steps one turn, and then wait and on the next turn do a jump lunge or something for a more powerful attack... and the victory dance would be a salute, you know, and at the beginning of a bout, I mean fight, when it's showing the characters standing there getting psyched for battle, or whatever the heck it's doing, you know, where it takes a long time and spins around and shows the scene, you could see the little guy in the background putting on his mask and checking his weapon and stuff. ... Yeah. And the other characters would all be just normal ff type characters.... .... ....

I've seen screenshots from JK2, and wouldn't mind buying the game for myself, but, alas, not much time for the games I've got!

Let's just say that I play JK II so much that I couldn't sleep last night because I dreamt that I was at work and my boss was telling me to go over there and slice that person up, and that person, and that person......... Also, I couldn't understnad what I was supposed to do so he kept restarting the level.

By 4:00 a.m. I was slightly annoyed. I was tempted to wake up then instead of dream that crazy dream anymore. Sadly, the only thing I could think to do would be to get on the computer and play Jedi Knight somemore!!!!!!!!!!!

I always pick on her little brother for living on Spiderman. She just reminds me that I have absolutely no room to talk.

It really wouldn't be fun to have a foil go through your mask.

    Maybe your mask....but not mine.

They are two entirely different things, and the latter would wrinkle my nose just as much as anyone's girlfriend's, to be sure!
