| Foil Grip I am returning to the sport after a lengthy (40 yrs) absence. The foil grip attached was purchased used and I cannot identify the type. I believe it is a Uhlman Visconti. Can anyone help identify the grip and provide information on where I can purchase others?
Best Regards

| I think the consensus would be to call that a German or a German Visconti; not terribly popular. |

| It's definately visconti, I don't know who uses black. It may have the manufacturer written on the side of the rear protrusion, but it doesn't appear so. You can buy similar viscontis from most vendors.

| I'd call this a "German" grip, not Visconti.

| I'd call it a "German" or less frequently "German Visconte," since Uhlman is German there is a posibility that is where it came from. I know TCA carries them: Sport Fencing Equipment, Sport Fencing Supplies and Sport Fencing Gear by TCA Fencing

| These were definately known as "German Viscontis." Santelli's used to sell them and they were quite popular.
I have one in the basement and you are welcome to it (the back tail has been cut off somewhat and filed down, not by me). It is uninsulated.
One of my friends uses them and I'll ask him where he gets them if someone else does not respond.

| Blade sells them (Allstar);
American sells them;
Tripletter sells them (house brand);
BG sells them (house brand);
FencingPost sells them in two sizes (Uhlmann);
FenceSmart sells them (Allstar);
There are subtle variations b/w manufacturers. |

Sharidonn | I remember this grip.
Santelli had it made. The black color was the real confusion point. Most black grips that are black are left handed. Santelli just wanted to be a bit diffrent I guess.
It is a German Viscounti.
