| Recent content on the National fencing Federation website Hi!
Thats right, I am referring to the website of the Swedish Fencing federation.
Anyway, they have recently published a bunch of interesting stuff, even for non-Swedish fencers. Among them:
1. "How to take fencing pictures, parts 1-2" Serge Timacheff shares his tips. The photos are outright fantastic, and the level of detail in the tips is quite something. This is translated from a recent American Fencing Magazine, and shows that the federation follws what happens in other parts of the fencing world.
2. "Your application has been processed and accepted" Those who signed up for the upcoming Junior Nationals and the winter camp get timely notification that they are in. That also goes for the majority of other intra-Sweden competitions.
3."The video rulings are here to stay" Pierre Thullberg, member of the SvFF rules group and the FIE rules commission. He goes on to detail some recent tweaks (for the better, IMO) in the video arbitrage rules, recent stats about them and some other info relating to how it went in Turin. If there is interest, I could translate that piece.
4. “A fencing fanatic´s memoirs” Jeff Bukantz book is critiqued. The book is described as quite interesting. I have not read it myself, so I can not comment on that - but any relevant book critique is a good thing.
5. “What puts winners and losers apart” A former European Championship medalist has been interviewed by a non-fencing newspaper, and the article is written about and linked to.
6. Junior European Championships – 16 articles about how the competition went. The points standing in the WET final was shown as it unfolded.
7. Junior World Cup in Bratislava – all poules posted ahead of time, for your info.
8. “Girls fencing on the West bank – life is nothing without fencing” Article about a fencing salle in the village of Abu Dees, Palestine.” If you think you have hassles, think about those who have it worse.
9. World Championships in Turin – 43 articles/notes about all sorts of stuff. Among them: Becca wins, video clips from Swedish team bouts, predictions, talk about the upcoming video arbitrage, etc.
That is just a small sample of the stuff posted on the federation homepage since Turin. Obviously, all results are posted within days after they come into the federation, and all info about the members, and other info, that the competition organizers need is easily downloadable. But that is the bare basics, which every federation can be expected to provide on their homepages as a matter of course. Another basic requirement that the federation fulfills is that the webpage never goes down.
Have a nice time!

Since it is the website of the Swedish federation, your web experience will be greatly enhanced if you understand that particular language.
Have a nice time!

Especially the shot of the four lovelies on the main page. The fencing shots themselves are good as well. And now I know why my mother never wanted me to travel to europe.
