Hello from London

Hello all,

Have been lurking for a while enjoying the various articles and discussions which at times seem to border on Aristotelian-eque discourse!

It is truely astonishing how I learn something new every single session and even more astonishing that it takes atleast another ten sessions to to put that one thing into practice, albeit with the reactionary head shake of the coach. Are all coaches so hard to please?!

Yeah, they are all hard to please - it's in the small print of the basic coaching manual.

Welcome to the forum. Not sure where you get the "Aristotelian-esque discourse" from - I thought it was just random gibberish!

Thanks for the welcome guys. Not much of a drinker myself but if it helps with making sense of the intricacies of fencing, D'art I might just take your lead!

'S cool! Hmm, I don't think I've heard of them. Are they big over there?

Idiotpilot... they are a Washington mob. Often accused of being Radiohead wannabes. Are they big here?... I very much doubt they they are big even in their living-rooms.

Louweasel... hello fellow Londoner. Where do you fence? I am at the Fencing Academy.

Oooh, academy, get you! Where is that anyway?

Officially I fence at Streatham, but in reality I'm not fencing much at the moment because of work. Weeknights just aren't reliable for me any more.

The Fencing Academy... rather a grand name I agree. But it is a great little club. We fence at Regent St and Great Portland St.

That's okay, I know that the author of this thread is none other than Dr. Watson - and I know this my dear fellow, by deducing that a while back, while reviewing my prior posts [yessssss?- baited breath], I realised that I had inadvertenly posted a british accent which fell flat,[ yessss, my league], which may have had international repercussions [ yessssssss], I therefore strove to repair whatever damage was done by reinstating the british accent, after seeing the movie Breamer, which was a blockbuster, yet far off the mark.
And in answer to your question, coaches really don't care about their students other than whatever medals they are able to contribute to the reputation of the salle.
They are all just horrid! ~------->

Dare I say my dear friend, you have the most singular ability of creating mysteries and solving them. Sir Doyle, no doubt, would have stood in awe! Might I also take this opportunity to commend your unique take on humour opacity of expression!
