Hello from NW Indiana

Hello - I have been involved in fencing for about a year- my son's High School started a fencing club last year; I volunteered to help maintain the equipment. (later I found out that you get a neat name- "Armorer"). I've even bought some gear to try for myself. We've since joined USFA; my 5th grader has his own foil and looks forward to club/HS activity as well. I enjoy the forum (especially the director's "quotes" thread...)

in ferrum veritas-

On the off hand chance that you care, it's 'in ferro veritas.' 'In ferrum veritas' would mean something closer to 'truth against the blade.' ('in' + the accusative = 'in to' or 'against')

Sorry if I butchered the Latin-- used periodic table name for iron.

I'm from Lafayette and I've got close friends up in Crown Point. Where abouts is this new high school club?

No worries about the Latin After all, it wasn't my least favorite translation mistake...

carpe diem ><

carpe diem <> sieze the day...

carpe diem = ....

pluck the day. Entirely different feel. Think more along the lines of 'take time to smell the roses.' Alas.
