    That depends on what it's foiling against, no?
    It's foiling alone, so there isn't another foil in the equation, and I think I'll assume that there isn't another weapon, but is it fencing the dust particles in the air, or is it fencing the wall or a tennis ball or something? It makes a big difference, of course. I mean, if you foil the dust you hear "... ... ...", but if you foil the wall, there's a "thunk", if you foil a tennis ball, there's a sorta soft "thud", if you use your foil as a fly swatter there's a "bbzzzzzzzzzzzzz, thwack" and most likely that's followed by another "bbzzzzzzzzzzzz"...

    the foil makes no sound when alone. It seeks no
    thrust and has no parry. The disengauge is futile
    the Coupe is pointless......one foil is a lonely number.
