| One thing Mango, the spelling is Aramis, not Arimis.
It is interesting that you mention that. I myself have used Aramis many times online. Back in High School, we used the LAN in our computer lab to play Quake II after we did our C++ in Computer Science. I always played as Aramis. I also enjoy playing online games as The Archpriest, a military and religious character from Timeline by Michael Chriton.
What's the correlation between the two? Both are men of the church who are very warlike or dark and worldly. For those who have read the Dumas novels, you know that Aramis in spite of his being a bishop, he's quite a worldly person. He has often been called the dark horse of the quartet. I suppose that these two characters, and names, relate to me because I am a Christian, but I am fairly worldy and certainly can be dark. I suppose that I relate to the fact that these men are suppost to be religious, but they are still warriors.

What's wrong with the real name or some near equivalent?
You know,
I give more credence in a forum to those who do not hide their identity. What's everyone's eeling on that?

| I giove credence to based on how they historically have posted.
I don't use my real name. When I first logged on, I choose "Latenight" for reasons I can't remember.
I've always been Latenight. That's what everyone here knows me by, so I'm unlikely to change it now....

| Although Gav is my real name (round where I live I am THE Gav ) I soemtimes use one of my nicknames - antihippy. After an unfortunate incident with a prank on a new age BB I haven't used it as much. |

| I have no problem in general with people knowing my real name. However, I don't reveal it at first on bulletin boards just for the sake of caution.
That and I've never been overly crazy about my real name. I tend to pick internet alias that reveal who I am or who I'd like to be. I call myself Catlady here and in other places because I'm like to wind up as one of those little old "cat ladies" that exist in seemingly every neighborhood. The ones who are a bit odd, live alone and general have about 20 or so cats to whom she speaks in full sentences on a regular basis. In other places, I am the Untamed Shrew, I hate to admit it, but that too describes quite a bit of what I'm like--definitely an "uppity woman". I also call myself immortal beloved, first because I like Beethoven and second just because it sounds good.
If it makes everyone feel better. I'll reveal my real name: Danielle Oviatt, genius. Yeah, I added that last bit.

| you have a point edew, there should be no reason to keep our 'real' names off the board, except that i'm not into playing cat and mouse with the nuts of the world. you may call me cathy. i am the person who wanted to mash you on the piste, but didn't have the chance. you're a good fencer. i'll take my revenge later. anon fair prince. if you ever go south, i'll meet up with you under the oaks. [actually, i don't think i'd win, but the fantasy of where i would put that point is just as good] |

| I think multiple names would be fun. I know I've been wanting to change mine for a while now. Considering the fact that I Am a fencer now I feel my name doesn't fit. I also think that a name for each board would be kinda nice, but at the same time confusing. Oh well, just my two bits.
Btb I really like the new layout of the board, and I'm a 'Senior member' I just feel so special will that under my name

| what's in a name as the bard suggested: what's in a name! alot. mango speaks volumes, maybe she should stay at 135711. 135711 is more analytical. I have thought of something of a combination of both the analytical and poetic, possibly mythos. |

I'm ShyHeidi because I hate my name and I hate that I'm shy, so putting them together says something. I don't know what. But it seemed fitting. ...We need a psychotic smiley! |

Hehe my boyfriend uses his real name on the internet.
One day when I was really bored I put his name into Yahoo, and found some posts of his on an Isla Fisher forum / mailing list.
This provided me with some much needed entertainment and enlightenment, but I decided not to go and see Scooby Doo.
I subsequently sent him a sarcastic email entitled "reasons why I never use my real name on the internet"
(He continues to use his real name, and maintains that the secret is to not disclose anything you wouldn't want others to know. I continue to be mildly entertained by some of his posts, yet also mildly disturbed.)
