I would use my real name but seeing how I am not a fencer I don't feel it is appropriate to say things that can be traced back to my family.
I already embarass them enough! They threaten to write books about me when they are grown!
Seeing how our lives revolve around fencing though it seems ok for me to post here in my feeble sleep deprived mind!

I use Peach because it asked me for a username or whatever, and I saw other people had these handles so I dragged one out of my head . In other forums, and for ten or more years, I have posted under my own name, under the philosophy that if you're public about most things and they aren't illegal nobody can blackmail you by threatening to reveal them.

Don't worry about it. I feel that I will have succeeded as a parent if my children need no more than two years of therapy to fix whatever it was that I screwed up...

They can only blackmail you if you assume guilt. If you don't, they can't embarrass you. If Clinton (and all those others) freely admitted to their sexual proclivities, no one could blackmail him (them).

    Loch,
Thanks for the words of encouragement! When we get into big issues I just tell the kids I will slip an extra hundred into their therapy fund.
It is a lie, we spend all our money on fencing, that has to do.

Don't worry Mo. It's usually mutual, ie you embarrass the kids, the kids embarass you. Heaven knows there are days I'm certain my parents wish they'd found a convenient band of gypsies to sell me to before I was old enough to figure out how to get home by myself.

Well...I've already got a somewhat dubious rep 'cause of my socks and the general way I am...so I've never bothered to hide my name in my signature line.
Need fencing equipment? See me at H.O.M. Fencing Supply

Going to your first tournament? Read "Choose yer weapon, Laddie (or: Dude, where's my foil?)"

i wish we could use our names, but there's someone with my name who does something important somewhere and also other relatives who have to work on things without having me blab the family name around

You should have given your name more thought.
