PRHS Fencing News! The PRHS Fencing team defeated Vanderbilt University to capture the gold medals
in two foil events on Saturday, October 28. The tournament, held at Vanderbilt
University in Nashville, Tennessee, pitted the Lions against fencers from
Vanderbilt University and Memphis University. Angela Stamm led the Lions to
victory in Saturday's Mixed Foil capturing first place and the gold medal for
the school and earning her "E" national ranking in foil. Angela becomes the
second PRHS fencer to be nationally ranked in both foil and epee. Ms. Stamm
also took the gold medal and first place in Women's Foil with fellow team mate
Erin Cook capturing the bronze medal. The team also competed in the afternoon
epee tournament which pitted the Lions against fencers from Vanderbilt and the
University of Tennessee. Also fencing were team captain Maggie Adams, Elizabeth
Weber, Lauren Connell, Alex Dornier, Claire Putnam, Angela Lee, Brenda Lee,
Alex Erwin, Evan Gilchrist, James Gregorie, and Jennifer Smith. Once again the
Lions were praised for their sportsmanship and fencing skill. Please

Array Congratulations!
Now, before anyone else says so in a snide way, there is a seperate place for tournament results. Just for future reference. "If I were ever to challenge you to a duel, your best bet would be battle axes in a very dark basement." Misquoted from The Prisoner
"Technical excellence is the antecedant of tactical creativity." - Nat Goodhartz

Array congratulations!!
Though the "E" is no where near "national rankings", it's just a USFA rating. -
