| The REAL reason the board was down was... - to suppress the vital, incisive political discussions in the run-up to elections.
- to increase economic productivity
(insert your reason...)

| It was terrorists.
Or El Nino
Or mold (inside joke I guess)
It was illegal imigrants trying to steal our jobs
Well these seem like the scapegoats that everything else is blamed on lately anyway. I personaly think that it was space aliens trying to take over out comunicarion systems.

| The handball discussion forum attacke the boards because they were tired of us stealing their Olympic thunder (what little of it there is).

| The sheer volume of the debates between Inq, Pidge, Jeff and other sufferers of verbal diarrhea overwhelmed not only the site's servers and the backups, but also 80% of the Google cache. Google retaliated by making Craig and Gav personally re-type all the entries lost from their cache, before they'd let them have their data back.

| I expect it was the new foil timings. They overloaded the circuitry of the scoring boxes and it all back-fed into the fencing.net computer system. Next thing you know, no lights on the computer.

| Actually, Craig and Gav got together and decided that there weren't enough game threads and they thought the best way to inspire this very thread was to voluntarilly take the site down for 2 weeks.

| The computer just couldn't deal with one more post whining about polls being flawed and commited digital suicide...
Or maybe it went down so certain members would be free to devote all their time to hunting down ReverseLunge.
