I think a couple of you may have gotten confused with the post on "Which Fencing Equipment Vendor do you use?" thread...

TCA has come a long way in the last couple of years, but a discussion of their merits in their new incarnation is a bit off topic for this thread, although I think it would be interesting.

Flying Fencer, what kind of lifespan on average would you say you get out of a more standard (StM/CF/BF) FIE blade? I know that it is not uncommon for me to go through a BF Blue in 3 months or so. Just trying to get a base line for rather or not the AF FIE blades were substantially shorter in the life for you or about average.
Just another lost soul saved by the (hit) First Church of EPEE!

I'm expecting/hoping for about six months from these blades. The StM and CF FIE blades have lasted over six months for me, but the StM just feels like a brick in my hand and the CF's were always a bit too whippy. I was looking for something with a better feel. I'm trying out the Absolute FIE's; but if they break in two months, I'll have to look for something else.

I've tried out the Vniti's. I know they last a very long time. They're pretty solid but felt a bit heavy. I tried the BF White and Blue FIE blades, and they were very nice but pricey. I may end up buying the BF's; but while I can stomach breaking a fairly inexpensive Absolute FIE in two months, I would be severely disappointed if I broke a $100 plus BF in less than two months.
