He doesn't need reminders. He just knows he's old.

I was thinking more like he could tell stories about how things were when he was young, how he invented the wheel and things like that...

I don't think Inq's quite that young, ZZ. I thought most of his stories would revolve around which amino acids went steady first and when the first protein moved into his neighborhood. And then he might move into comment like this one:

YKYGO when you can no longer remember when you developed your first flagellum.

No, Inq goes back even further than that.

YKYGO when you remember the Big Bang.

For those of us who are mere mortals,...

YKYGO when you remember having a Tonka truck that was actually made of steel.

Oh no! Has everything turned to plastic? You guys are disillusioning me!

(Toys? What toys? We had to march 50 miles in the snow to get to school, up hill both ways!)

Based on personal experience this past weekend...

YKYGO when you have to move your weapon in and out of focus till it comes to rest two feet from your face before you can tell if your tip screws are even still in the weapon. (Or alternately, say to your referee, "I can't see that far. Do I have all my screws? ")

And you need your reading glasses to replace them.

Or you have to wear your bifocals when you compete/ref, so you can read the pool sheet.

You know you're getting old when it takes you longer to take your morning pills than it does to take your morning shower.

YKYGOW you go to a students competition and realise you've been fencing longer than most of your opponents have been alive.
