    The Ultimate Fencing Soundtrack

Some songs were designed for a 'chill out' kind of soundtrack, some songs were designed for a more 'moody'soundtack. If you were to design a complitation of songs for fencing soundtrack, what would they be?

Just sounds of blades beating each other.

The marvelous ring of the bell guard when it has been hit.

    The shouts of the fencers.

And it would have some kind of little spray bottle that would create the smell of the fencing room too.
    • Epee is the Louis Vuitton bag of fencing: only the best can get it, and the rest of the masses must content themselves with cheap knockoffs (sabre, foil)

Oingo Boingo's "Sweat!" from the mid-80's has always been a fencing favorite with me.

"Duel of the Fates" from Star Wars: Episode I, perhaps?

Going to your first tournament? Read "Choose yer weapon, Laddie (or: Dude, where's my foil?)"

Block Rockin Beats by the Chemical Brothers, and Boom by P.O.D. are the two ultimate fencing songs.

    1. Pearl Jam's Once ( track 1 of Ten )
    2. Engel by Rammstein
    3. Duel of the Fates
    4. Machinehead
    5. Princes of the Universe by Queen
    6. Anything Celtic and misty
    7. Du Hast

Those are a few that I can think of. I've also fenced to Depeche Mode's Black Celebration, but I'd rather the others. Incidentally, tracks 2,5, & 7 are part of a CD a friend of mine put together one evening when we were fighting with lightsabres, those were the real standouts.

I would have to go with :
    ~"Jump" by The Pointer Sisters
~"Livin' the Life" by Steel Dragon (from the 'Rock Star' soundtrack)
~"Playing to Win" by John Farnham
~"Walking on the Sun" by Smash Mouth
~"Danger Zone" from the Top Gun soundtrack

Thanks, you can leave the smell away

Your idea reminds me of Lebowsky listening to the bowling finals recorded on audio tapes!

i haven't thought of the eagles in a long time, thanks, they're great! i also like steely dan - you know, how his voice sort of warbles....

question: what makes a guy sing, for real, that's really difficult to do, get up in front of other people and warble and hope that no-one throws stuff at you.....

Good that Rammstein was not left out.. personally, I find that pretty much anything by the Red Hot Chili Peppers helps me to concentrate when practicing.

Favorite music to fence to, gotta be...
Shrapnel in my ankle/ Sweet Bottom.
    Soul Sacrifice/ Santana.
Kiss my Axe/ Al Di Meiola.
    Locomotive Breath/ Jethro Tull.
    Aja/ Steely Dan.

By the way, 135711, Stelly Dan is a group, not a person. If you would like, I can PM you with the origin of the name. Lets just say it's not
appropriate for this board. The singers for Steely Dan are Michael Mc Donald, and Donald Fagen.

Hmm, fencing soundtrack... I once went to audiogalaxy and performed a search for "sword" and downloaded just about everything I came to... Some of them are rather interesting... though there seems to be alot of slayer kinda stuff in there... Oh well.
