| Did anyone record WC MS and WF? To the folks in Europe.
Because of some glitch in my system (I think I turned the sat receiver off), I did not record the men's sabre and women's foil that was carried this morning on Eurosport. If anyone recorded this, preferably on DVD, and would be willing to make me a copy, I would be very grateful.
PM me if you have the coverage and would let me copy it or would copy it for me.

| Sounds like Peter G made a copy (missing the first 5-6 touches of the first semi event, or possibly the first 5-6 touches of each bout, typical of Eurosport).
I might be receiving it as VHS, which will then get transferred into DVDs (no VHS for Inq, sorry). Maybe available by December as stocking stuffers.

| wcsn has it all, it has both semi and final and it even include some of the wheel chair fencing. it only costs 5 bucks for the monthly subscription. I think, you can just cancel your memebership after the event, hehe.
go to www.wcsn.com
but I dont like commentary this time, it was better last year that they have a pretty funny commentary in conjunction with some us fencers or coaches. This time they only have a couple ladies which I think are non-fencers, though they can repeat the referee's calls in english which I think it's a plus.

If you live in Europe, you can't receive it (note that they evidently define "athletics" as any sporting event, not just track and field.)

The commentators are Susie Paxton and Felica Zimmerman... I do not know Susie's background, but Felicia is quite obviously of a fencing background... but it is certainly better than nothing.
We've been putting it up on the plasma screen at the club and watching the coverage.
The gold medal bout for Men's Sabre happened to occur during a lull in the tournament we were hosting (10 minute break between semi final and gold medal bout if I remember correctly)... so it was pretty cool to be able to toss that up on the big TV and watch everyone in the club just crowd around to watch Podz win another world championship.

Reason: Inconsistent Zimmerman-age

She was also doing the commentary in Athens 2 years ago.

| Peter G emailed me that he also has the 2005 WC tapes. Does anyone want those tapes duped into DVDs as well? I think fencingpictures or whatever made copies of those events. (I watched the bout between Podz and Couvaliu: very hard to see in the dark room, can't tell what the referee awarded, and almost can't see the blades at all. Of course, that was on a tiny TV set.)

| Hi!
The Swedish fencing federation has posted a few .mov clips of bouts on its website, www.fencing.se
Poke around on the recent news list (nyheter) and you will find them.
Have a nice time!

The events are been broadcasted at 320 X 240 pixels, 318 kbps for video, and 24 bit video sample . Last year, WCSN charged $9.95, while this year is $4.99.
