If you're discussing which world/reality I find more interesting it'd probably be Star Wars, but which was a better executed movie, definitely LoTR. As for the books, I've read LoTR, but haven't read any of the Star Wars novelizations. I am impressed with the depth of imagination that Tolkien obviously had--all the background info. the indices at the end of Return of the King, quite a bit of which wasn't totally necessary to the story, blows me away. People claim I have a vivid imagination, but I could never come up with all that. However there are other fantasy novels and series that I like better.

I havent read any of the books. On the subject of the movies, I have 2 possible responses to pick from.
1)I really liked lord of the rings.
    2)Dont make me choose!

Star Wars. I have read LoTR, and I have read many, far too many Star WArs books which occur after the movies end. And I would have to say I enjoy the Star Wars books much more.
